Our Education System for the Animals?

by admin2012 on April 14, 2013

A business associate, Ed Rosenthal Higher Source Sites, recently sent me this cartoon along with the statement that follows.

This cartoon summed up so nicely by Albert Einstein as he stated, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

While the quote above is certainly true for the diversities of the vast kingdom of animals, is it true for the human species given our global economy?  What are your thoughts on this, especially when thinking about our competitive systems for college entrance and job hiring?  Should all children be expected to learn the same basic academic curriculum through grade 6?, grade 8?, grade 12?  Should there be well articulated standards for what is considered a basic education in the US?
