In the elementary years, your child must learn the basic foundational skills required to read, write, and solve math problems and be able to apply these skills with relative ease.  If your child is not learning these skills, he will fall behind as his peers advance.  Over time, the gap between what your child can do and what his peers can do actually widens.  Waiting is not an answer and only exacerbates the problem.  Time slips by, it is farther into the school year, and your child is still struggling.  The sooner your child receives the specific instruction he needs- the easier it is to close this achievement gap.
